Traco Power's 360W TSP BCMU360 series of DIN-Rail universal battery controller modules for uninterruptible 24 and 48VDC bus voltages have been added to Power Sources Unlimited's offering, as part of the Traco Power portfolio. The devices from this modular line of DIN-Rail battery controllers are designed for efficiency and operate over the temperature range of -25 to +70°C.

This module provides a professional battery management system to charge and monitor an external 12V lead-acid battery. The connected battery will be charged and held in charged mode by the power supply. In the event of a mains power failure the battery will supply the output power until the battery is discharged. Consequently, the output voltage of the system is equivalent to the battery voltage.

To avoid overcharging the battery, an external temperature sensor adjusts the battery voltage automatically to the required end of charge voltage, which can extend battery life. Mains power and battery status are monitored regularly and failures indicated by corresponding LED’s and alarm outputs. The module also provides an external On/Off input to switch-off both, power supply and battery.

Further features include redundant inputs for two independent sources, deep discharge protection, short circuit and reverse connection and international safety approval package.

Packaged in a rugged, compact metal casing, the controllers are shock and vibration-proof, making them suitable for use in the harshest of environments. The TSP BCMU360 module is a standalone unit and is designed to function with the TSP series, however, it can be used in conjunction with any fully stabilised 24 or 48VDC power supply output.

PSU is an ISO 9001:2008 North American Authorised Distributor for TRACO Power. Pricing starts from $125 each in OEM quantities, and all TRACO Power products are backed by a 3 year warranty.
