Absopulse Electronics’ DCW 202R, a dual-output railway quality DC/DC converter, utilizes high efficiency power conversion technology to deliver 150W output power depending on the required input/output configuration.
Both outputs are fully regulated, independent and isolated from each other; this ensures that a short or overload condition on one output would have no effect on the other output. Each of the two outputs provides any voltage between 5Vdc and 125Vdc. The nominal input voltages are 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V or 110Vdc with wide input ranges (according to EN50155). Other input and output values, redundancy diode and alarm output are available as options.

The DCW 202R operates at full specification over a -25oC to +55oC cold-plate temperature range. Cooling is by conduction to customer heat sink or chassis and by natural convection. It is housed in a compact, vented enclosure that measures 163 x 51 x 200 mm. An “Output On” LED is visible through the cooling slots.

This rugged converter meets all relevant standards for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock including EN50155, EN50121-3-2 conducted and radiated EMI, EN55022 Class B, and EN61000 immunity. It has full electronic protection. Environmental protection includes full ruggdizing and conformal coating, and it meets EN61373/IEC61373 shock and vibration standards. Large design headroom, and the exclusive use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF.
