MTM Power has designed the DC/DC converters series PCMDS60W especially for applications in rail and vehicle technology but also for use in industrial and telecommunication applications. Without any additional external components the PCMDS60 meet all functional and normative requirements of electronic equipment in railway applications acc. to EN 50 155, EN 50 121-3-2, EN 61 373 Cat. 1, Cl. B.

As a plug-and-play solution for sensitive electrical subsystems, the converters can be easily installed and operated in the field. The primary switched DC/DC converters are available with a wide input range for battery voltages of 24 V, 36 V, 48 V, 60 V, 72 V, 96 V and 110 V acc. EN 50 155. They offer an output power of 60 Watts and galvanically isolated output voltages of 5,2 V, 12 V, 15 V, 24 V or 48 V.

The dimensions are 130 mm x 69 mm x 30 mm (length x wide x height). Due to this flat design, the series PCMDS60W is also suitable for applications where only little space is available. They are connected via spring clamps, which meet the special requirements e. g. in railway applications as regards to vibration resistance and reduced time for wiring.

The converters need no ground load, are maintenance free and short-circuit protected by primary and secondary power limitation. Further features are a mechanically and electrically rugged design using SMD-technology and an automatic piece-by-piece test.

They are vacuum potted (EP 1 987 708, U.S. Patent No. 8,821,778 B2), prepared for the use in devices with Protection Class II and have to be mounted on a heat-dissipating surface for cooling.
