The TEL 8 series is a range of isolated 8W converters. Available in a compact DIP-16 metal package, they provide a 2.3 times higher power density compared to established 8W DC-DC converters in DIP-24 package.
The series offers a wide 2:1 input voltage range and a high efficiency of up to 86%, which allows an operational temperature of up to +70°C at full load and an overall operating temperature range of –40 to +80°C.
Other features include a built-in input filter that provides the converters with conducted emission standard EN55022 class A compliance, and protection features such as overload and short-circuit protection.
The range includes a variety of input voltage ranges of either 9 to 18Vdc (nominal 12Vdc), 18 to 36Vdc (nominal 24Vdc) or 36 to 75Vdc (nominal 48Vdc).
Other characteristics include I/O-isolation voltage of 1500Vdc, load regulation of 1%, peak-to-peak ripple and noise of 55mV, no minimum load requirement and maximum no-load input current of only 10mA.
The TRACO POWER TEL 8 is available from RS with single or dual output voltage options of 5, 12, 15, 24, ±12 and ±15Vdc.
