The MGJ3 and MGJ6 series of configurable output voltage, high isolation DC/DC converters have been introduced by Murata. The 3 and 6W converters are optimised for use as high- and low-side gate drivers in IGBT and MOSFET bridge circuit designs for end applications including motor drives, traction control drives and wind turbine generators.

Providing optimum switching of IGBT drives for best overall system efficiency, the converters feature triple output voltages of +15, +5 and -5VDC. These outputs are also configurable, enabling the converters to suit a number of different circuit requirements such as +15 and -5VDC or +20 and -5VDC. Both the MGJ3 and MGJ6 converters are offered with a choice of wide input voltage ranges of for 4.5-9VDC (+5VDC nominal), 9-18VDC (+12VDC nominal) and 18-36VDC (+24VDC nominal).

The DC/DC converters operate over a temperature range from -40 to +105°C and offer short circuit and overload protection features to ensure a robust operation during system fault conditions. The devices also feature an enable pin to facilitate power saving and a frequency synchronisation input that aids EMC filter design.

The 3W MGJ3 measures 23.11x22.61x14.65mm and the 6W MGJ6 has dimensions of 31.24x22.61x14.65mm.
