To meet the demand for high-performing, compact power supply applications, ROHM has introduced the BD9G101G and BU9000xGWZ DC/DC converters. The BD9G101G converter provides a wide operating voltage range of 6-42V, with an extended operating temperature range of -40 to 105°C. In a SOT23 (SSOP6) package which measures only 2.9x2.8x1.25mm, the converter also allows designers to reduce space by more than 20%.

The BD9G101G offers a fixed 1.5MHz operating frequency, allowing the use of small inductors and ceramic capacitors. With a 45V/800mΩ internal power MOSFET, the converter delivers 0.75V ±1.5% feedback pin voltage and features under voltage lock out and thermal shutdown functions.

With built-in FETs that allow designers to accommodate space-constrained board layouts, ROHM's BU9000xGWZ converter is offered in an ultra-compact UCSP35L1 (1.3x0.9x0.4mm) package. The converter utilises low current Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode, providing up to 1.0A of load current with an input voltage range of 4.0-5.5V. For fast transient response, the converter features a 6MHz high switching frequency. This also provides automatic PFM/PWM switching operation, enabling high power efficiency over both light and heavy loads. As with the BD9G101G converter, the BU9000xGWZ also includes under voltage lock out and thermal shutdown functions.
