DC/DC converters allow pcb layout flexibility

Modular 2W DC/DC converters with complete medical certification are included in RECOM’s REM2 series. Thanks to their compact SIP8 package (23.0×8.0x12.2mm) and many variants, they offer developers freedom in designing their PCB layout.

The REM2 series is available from Rutronik UK with many input voltage ranges, all common output voltages as well as single or dual outputs.

The board-mount 2W DC/DC converters come with reinforced isolation of 5.2kVDC/1 minute as well as 2MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) at 250VAC at 5.000m.

With an input voltage of 3.3 to 24VDC, output voltages between ±3.3 and ±12VDC are feasible.

At a bandwidth of 20MHz, the output voltage fluctuates by a maximum of 150mVp-p.

In the operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, the modules reach up to 85% efficiency without derating. With a maximum load of 50% they can be used at an operating temperature of up to +95°C.

At +25°C the REM2 series has an MTBF (Meantime between Failure) of 12900×103 hours, at +80°C it is 5300×103 hours.

The REM2 series is compliant to class A/B EMC and 60601-1-2 (4th ed.) medical EMC using a simple external LC filter and is certified to CB, IEC/EN and ANSI/AAMI 60601-1 (3rd ed.) medical safety standards.

It comes with a warranty of five years.
