The PKU4000D series from Flex Power Modules is an analogue DC/DC converter module that can deliver up to 260 W of power with an efficiency of up to 96%. It is available at distributor Digi-Key.

This series of converters is an excellent replacement for eighth-brick footprint converters in many applications, saving more than 40% board space.

The series has a wide 36 V to 75 V and 36 V to 60 V input range, and an output range between 2.6 V to 13.2 V and delivers up to 260 W in power.

The PKU4217D is the latest addition to this series which also reaches the incredible power level of 260 W in a sixteenth-brick form factor and makes it one of the world's smallest converters to achieve this level of power.

High power density and increased efficiency are gained by applying the Flex HRR (hybrid regulated ratio) technology.

The module's high efficiency of up to 96% with a 48 V input can deliver significant reductions in energy and cooling costs for end-users, especially in telecommunications and data applications.

In addition, the module's exceptional thermal performance enables higher useable power in applications that are designed to operate in high ambient temperature and limited airflow environments.

In an industry-standard, DOSA-compatible, five-pin, sixteenth-brick package with dimensions of 1.3 in. x 0.9 in. x 0.4 in. (33 mm x 23 mm x 11 mm), modules of this series can either be ordered in a through-hole or surface-mount pinning. The modules are also available in an open frame or baseplate package.

The series input-to-output (I/O) isolation voltage of 2,250 VDC also enables it to be used in a wide range of applications, including Power over Ethernet (PoE). In addition, advanced protection features of the module include output overvoltage, overtemperature, and overcurrent.
