The five-year warranty EVS series of constant current power supplies has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Two power levels are offered - a fan cooled 600W and a convection cooled 300W. These compact power supplies are suitable for water purification systems or to charge batteries for energy storage.

Operating from a wide-range input of 85 to 265VAC, the EVS series is available with 18V (300W only), 36V and 57V outputs for charging 12V, 24V and 48V batteries, including lithium-ion, nickel hydride and lead acid types. The float voltage and charging current can be user adjusted across a wide range.

The units will operate in ambient temperatures of -20°C to 70°C with applicable derating above 45°C to 60°C (model dependant). Overall dimensions are 84x42x180mm (WxHxD), for the 300W and 120x61x190mm for the 600W. Options include a cover assembly (standard for the 600W) and a remote on/off function for both the 300W and 600W power levels.

In addition, a 20A reverse protection module is available to avoid current flowing from the battery back into the power supply. The EVS-RP6020 is rated for operating with voltages of 7 to 60VDC and uses a low RDSon FET to minimise the voltage drop to less than 200mV. This module is available with or without a mounting bracket, measuring 50x26x77.5mm and 60x32x93.5mm respectively.

All model numbers are safety certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The EVS power supplies also comply with EN 55011-B and EN 55022-B emissions (both conducted and radiated) and meet the EN 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
