IXYS have today announced the CPC1968J, a new 2Arms solid state power relay. Optically coupled MOSFET technology enables the CPC1968J to provide 2.5kVrms of input to output isolation. The output is constructed with efficient MOSFET switches and IXYS ICD’s patented OptoMOS architecture and technology.

The CPC1968J is a single-pole normally open (1-Form-A) solid state power relay that is rated for up to 5A continuous load current.

The CPC1968J offers the lowest on-resistance in the power relay family of devices with a load voltage rating of 400V or greater. This combination of low on-resistance, high load voltage and high load current handling capability makes this relay suitable for a variety of high performance switching applications such as medical equipment, industrial controls, electronic switching and instrumentation.

The unique ISOPLUS-264 package pioneered by IXYS Power Division enables solid state relays to achieve the highest load current and power ratings in a small footprint. Package dimensions are 19.9 X 26.2 X 5.0 mm with a weight of 7.1 grams.

The ISOPLUS-264 package features power silicon devices mounted onto a Direct Copper Bond substrate to maximize power handling capability. This DCB ceramic, the same substrate used in high power modules, not only provides 2.5kVrms isolation but also has a very low thermal resistance of 0.3 degrees C/W.

Availability

The CPC1968 is available now in production quantities.
