Compact USB-C power adapter supports USB power delivery
Together, TRUMPower and Tumbler Technologies have announced the new ultra-thin TPD60 series, which provides up to 60W of output power at 5, 9, 12, 15, and 20V. Its power delivery technology automatically detects and delivers the voltage required by the device enabling much faster charging, saving power costs, and enhancing safety.
The TPD60 series can be configured with either a C6 or C14 AC input and comes standard with an 800mm length output cable with a reversible USB Type-C connector.
Leverage the latest USB-C technology in your new design to take advantage of the convenient reversible connector, simplifying the many different connections existing today across multiple devices. Possible applications for this versatile power supply include mobile phones, tablets, laptops, TVs, mass storage devices, set-top boxes, and workstations.
The TPD60 series stays ahead of its competition, offering an industry leading power density of 6.01W/in3 with dimensions of 77.3x92x25.4mm and weighing in at only 215g. Additional features include full compliance with DOE Level VI Efficiency requirements, 5,000m maximum operating altitude, and 500,000 hours MTBF.
In addition to the safety enhancement provided by the Power Delivery technology, the power adapters also include over current, over voltage, over temperature, and short circuit protection.
The power adapter is approved to UL/IEC/EN 60950-1 2nd edition safety standards and is UL, cUL, CB, CE, and TUV/GS approved. The unit complies with EMC and immunity standards including EN55022 Class B, FCC Class B, EN61000-3-2, EN61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN61000-4-5, EN61000-4-11.
