Campbell Collins Debuts New Family of 15W DC/DC Converters with 4:1 Input Ranges in Industry Standard Packages

Campbell Collins Ltd, a specialist supplier of power supplies, capacitors and hi-rel power semiconductors, is pleased to announce the availability of a new family of 15W DC/DC Converters from Power Mate, offering high power density and a flexible range of input and output voltages.

The FKC15W series has 4:1 input ranges of 9-36V or 18-75V, making them suitable for a wide range of applications in both Industrial and Telecom/Datacom applications. With single outputs of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 15V, and dual outputs of ±5V, ±12V and ±15V, the family offers a broad range of solutions to customers’ needs. Available output current is up to 4A (at 3.3V), and efficiencies are as high as 90%. Operating temperature range is -40degC to +100degC (with full power available up to +67degC ambient).

Housed in a six-sided, nickel coated copper case measuring just 1.25” x 0.8” x 0.4” (31.8mm x 20.3mm x 10.2mm), the FKC15W comes with a full suite of protection features including Input Under Voltage Lockout; Output Over Voltage Protection; Output Over Current Protection and Short Circuit Protection. The units are also able to withstand input voltage transients of 50V for 1s (9-36V nominal) and 100V for 1s (18-75V nominal). Calculated MTBF figures for the devices are 4.1Mhrs according to MIL-HDBK-217F, and they come with a 2 year warranty as standard.

“Power Mate’s extensive product range for Industrial and Telecom/Datacom applications has now been complemented by this ultra high power density device” said Phil Goff, Sales & Marketing Manager for Campbell Collins. “By offering up to 15W in the same package as previous 3W, 5W, 8W and 12W devices, customers now have a easy migration path for those applications needing more power” he continued.
