Amtek’s revenue meter quantifies power quality on electric grids

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has completed a performance assessment of the JEMStar II revenue meter from AMETEK Power Instruments.

The JEMStar II is designed to accurately monitor power quality. The meter measures steady state power quality and identifies power quality anomalies on electric grids. It detects voltage sags and swells, harmonics, transients, flicker and power interruptions.

Among the JEMStar II’s features is 1GB of memory to store triggered waveforms, high speed RMS (root mean square) captures and long term trending of power quality measurements. Power quality data is stored inside the device using the PQDIF format and can be sent to a server.

The easy-to-use software offers a graphical display to help users perform root-cause assessments of power quality issues.
