AEG Power Solutions will present the next generation of its successful Protect 8 family. Following the successful launch of the initial Protect 8, with over 200 single-phase systems installed worldwide in many industrial segments, AEG Power Solutions is widening its modular design towards a full product portfolio.
The Protect 8 series will now include heavy-duty, double-conversion, three-phase AC-output Industrial UPS systems and stand-alone Single-Phase and Three-Phase DC-to-AC Inverters. As a major part of the industrial power supply market requires three-phase systems, this newly-introduced UPS enables customers to secure their applications that require even higher currents. It will allow AEG Power Solutions to further grow the business in building-block UPS.

All Protect 8 systems are designed, assembled, and tested in the finest tradition of quality and reliability by AEG PS in Germany using a modular, building-block architecture. The building blocks mark the Protect 8 as the world’s first ‘customer-ized’ UPS: Each UPS is tailored to its customer’s specific requirements.

“In designing the Protect 8, we built upon the know-how and technology developed for the Protect 5 UPS family to achieve even-higher levels of availability, reliability, and manufacturing standards to serve our industry” said Mohammed Aggabi, the AC Protect Family Line Manager at AEG Power Solutions speaking from Belecke, Germany. The Protect 8 UPS range is called a ‘customer-ized’ solution. “This means that, thanks to our innovative building-block architecture and ‘Fit to Specification’ concept, each customer gets precisely what they are looking for, in terms of mechanical design, input and output voltages, electrical features, communication protocols, battery type, autonomy, and desired documentation in a shorter delivery lead time. Additionally the ’B uilding Block‘ will enable easy and rapid maintenance as any module can quickly be replaced if necessary”, he added.

The single-phase Protect 8 was launched a year ago and welcome by the market. It’s already used by multiple markets in the industry.

Additional benefits include easy integration thanks to the Protect 8’s open communications platform, lower operating costs through reduced cooling requirements, and floor space economies thanks to a compact footprint. The Protect 8 series is designed for virtually all industrial crucial applications requiring maximum quality and reliability, including onshore & offshore oil and gas installations, energy & electricity generation and distribution, water treatment and instrumentation, and process control among others.
