After each load arc, the HV output is inhibited for a short period to help remove the arc. The internal circuitry constantly senses and integrates arcs that occur over a given time. Should a load arcing problem develop, the power supply will cycle off, and then automatically restart. To enable line and load variations, voltage regulation is better than 0.005%. From short circuit to rated voltage, current regulation is better than 0.1%. Devices are parallelable: one master supply and up to four slave supplies provide a maximum of 12-20kW depending on kV.
Providing high efficiency and a reduced parts count for improved reliability, the PCUs offer off-the-line pulse-width modulation. For protection against overloads, arcs, and short circuits, automatic crossover from constant-voltage to constant-current regulation is enabled. RS-232, USB or, optionally, Ethernet communications allow for remote control programming and monitoring.
The stack series, which is compliant with EN61010/ IEC1010, EN61000-6-4, and EN61000-6-2:2005 European Directives, consists of a rack style driver chassis, a high voltage stack assembly and a remote control unit. Glassman offers standard power supplies with a three year warranty and OEM/modified power supplies with a one year.
