Certified to the IEC 60601-1 & 60601-1-11 medical standards, a series of 40-65W Class II external power supplies has been unveiled by TDK-Lambda. The DTM65-C8 series have 4,000VAC isolation from input to output and require no ground wire connection. The series is intended to power a range of hospital, dental and home healthcare products for monitoring, imaging and diagnostic applications.

The series is comprised of seven popular output voltages of 5, 12, 15, 19, 24, 28 and 48VDC and operates from a 90-264VAC input via a standard IEC 60320-C8 connector. The output cable is terminated with a 4-pin Power-DIN connector, with other connector types available on request.

Models of 12V and above have an average efficiency level greater than 88% and an off-load power draw of less than 0.21W, enabling the series to fully meet the ErP and DOE Efficiency Level VI requirements.

The DTM65-C8 external power supplies have a vent-free IP21 rated enclosure and comply with the strict shock and vibration for the home healthcare medical standard IEC 60601-1-11. The overall size of the enclosure is a compact 106x60x31mm.

In addition to IEC 60601-1, the DTM65-C8 has been certified to EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1-08 and carries the CE mark. TDK-Lambda’s medical safety compliance extends to providing 2 x MOPPs (Means of Patient Protection) input to output. All models comply with EN 55011-B, FCC Class B (conducted and radiated) emissions and EN 60601-1-2 immunity standards.
