Now available through ACAL Technology - the new Xcite 1340W modular power supply from Excelsys Technologies, the world leading specialists in high efficiency configurable power supplies. Just 1U high and 268mm x 127mm the Xcite boasts industry leading 16W/in² power density with up to 90% efficiency and an innovative “plug and play” architecture which allows users to configure a custom power solution in less than 5 minutes.
A combination of low loss technologies, optimal thermal performance, the best field-proven planar magnetic, and a high degree of surface mount assembly ensures ultra-high efficiency and reduces system thermal load by more than 50% over conventional designs. The XCE chassis may be populated with up to 6 Excelsys powerMods (configurable DC output modules) providing output power of up to 1340W at 230VAV and an unrivalled 1200W at 110VAC. Single and multiple outputs voltages from 1V to 60V are available and are user adjustable for custom applications. All outputs are fully isolated and may be connected in series or parallel as required. A separate 5VDC “standby” voltage is also provided for system administrators and front panel LEDs provide visual system status checks.

Gary Duffy, Managing Director of Excelsys Technologies, comments. “There is a very large and continually growing market for 1U power supplies. Increased power in smaller packages sizes is a continuing market driver. The Excelsys XCE expands our product offering in this area and offers unparalleled power, operational efficiency and user convenience in this this industry standard envelope.”

The Excelsys Excite has a universal input range, 85-264VAC, over voltage protection and will operate at full load up to 40°C. All possible configurations are fully safety agency approved, CE marked and carry EN60950 and UL 60950 certification. The XCE meets international EMC requirements including Class B conducted and radiated emissions (EN55022), and full compliance to the immunity standards of EN61000-4-2,-3, -4,-5, -6 and -11.

Typical applications include industrial control systems, instrumentation, n+1 and redundant power systems, test and measurement equipment, printing, telecomms and IT power.
