1250W converters target extreme environmental conditions
The C3700 series of 1250 Watt DC/DC and AC/DC converter modules and battery charger has been released by Schaefer. Utilising industrial grade components, the compact and robust 6U design provides a highly efficient, space-saving solution for the most extreme environments in industries such as rail and transit for railway controls and communications equipment.
The efficient C3700 series delivers up to 1250W of power and offers nine standard DC input voltage ranges from 18 up to 640VDC. AC input options include single-phase 115VAC or 230VAC or three-phase inputs of 3x200, 3x400 and 3x480VAC. Single outputs are available in twelve standard ranges encompassing 5-400VDC. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2% or better (load) and 0.1% (line).
The C3700 series has comprehensive protection circuitry and efficiencies of up to 95%. Featuring natural convection cooling and a standard operating temperature range of –20 to +75°C, with an option for -40 to +75°C, the DC/DC and AC/DC models have remote sense capability. Options include decoupling diodes for parallel/redundant operation, further mechanical ruggedisation, inhibit, Power Fail / DC-OK alarms, system reset, and programming/monitoring functions.
