Inelco Hunter, the UK distributor for ProTek Devices, has introduced a new series of transient voltage suppression (TVS) circuit protection components compliant with RTCA DO-160G standards, targeting the power supply, AC/DC, and telecom sectors.
The SMBJxxA/CA range is designed to shield board-level circuits against electrostatic discharge (ESD), lightning-induced surges, and switching transients. The devices, suitable for TTL and MOS bus line applications, deliver a peak pulse power rating of 600 watts on a 10/1000 microsecond waveform, and meet IEC 61000-4-2, 61000-4-4, and 61000-4-5 standards. They are rated at 15kV air discharge and 8kV contact discharge, and are both UL registered and compliant with REACH and RoHS directives.
Manufactured using glass passivated chip technology, the devices offer low leakage current and come in both bidirectional and unidirectional versions. They provide rapid response times and strong clamping performance, with a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The components are housed in a moulded JEDEC DO-214AA package weighing roughly 0.1 grams, with lead-free, pure-tin plated contacts that meet MIL-STD-750, Method 2026 solderability standards.
Inelco Hunter said its engineering team provides technical support across its product range, including assistance with design integration and project development. The company emphasised that its focus on engineering-led support, rather than a “stock and ship” approach, has underpinned its operations for more than three decades.
