Wet tantalum capacitors boast ultra-high capacitance range

High-energy EP1 series wet tantalum capacitors from Vishay are now in stock in Europe at TTI. Built on Vishay’s proven SuperTan technology, the products feature an ultra high capacitance range from 2,000µF to 30,00 µF and voltage ratings from 25VDC to 125VDC in the A case code.

The values of EP1 series components further include a capacitance of 13,000µF at 50V in the A case size, which is 18% greater than the closest competing device.

The capacitors feature a standard capacitance tolerance of 20%, with 10% tolerance also available.

Optimised for pulse power and energy hold-up applications in laser guidance, radar, and avionics systems, the products are housed in an all-tantalum, hermetically sealed case for increased reliability.

The devices operate over a temperature range of -55°C up to +85 °C, to +125°C with voltage derating, and provide a maximum ESR down to 0.030Ω at 1kHz and +25°C. The capacitors are available with tin/lead (Sn/Pb) and RoHS-compliant 100% tin terminations.
