Water cooled, aluminium-housed resistors rated for up to 600W
Expanding its HS range of power resistors, ARCOL has announced a water cooled resistor with a capability of 600W for very high power applications. The high-power, aluminium-housed resistors offer an impressive balance of pulse power capability versus package size - at the top-end of the power range, the HS300 has a power rating of 300W, packaged within an aluminium housing measuring just 45.5x41.8x141mm.
Eleven wattages are offered, from 10-600W.
The high-power resistors are manufactured using a wire-wound design to maximise the high pulse capability. They are also optimised for stability, linearity and reliability, making them suitable for applications including: snubber; inverter/converter; balancing resistor; braking resistor; and inrush limiter.
Many terminal options are offered, exceeding those found on similar resistors on the market - no less than seven different terminations are available. The HS resistor family is manufactured in line with the requirements of MIL 18546 and IEC 115.
The power resistors are RoHS compliant and are designed for ease-of-assembly. Ohmic resistance values vary from R005 to 100K depending on wattage and the tolerances values for low Ω values are typically ≥ R05 ±5% ≤ R047 ±10%. The temperature coefficients are typically < 1K 100ppm Std. > 1K 25ppm as standard.
