The HVArc Guard internal structure inherently enables higher capacitances to be manufactured when compared to standard high-voltage MLCCs. It also facilitates the use of smaller case sizes in high voltage devices, enabling end-device miniaturization and reduced component cost.
HVArc Guard MLCCs are optimized for use in buck and boost dc-to-dc converters, voltage multipliers for flyback converters, and lighting ballast circuits. Consequently these surface-mount X7R devices are ideal for use in lighting systems and power supplies for medical, computer, motor control, construction and mining, and telecommunications applications.
