With the introduction of its IRHL2D10P (3x3x1mm), Trigon announces the entrance into the market for low-profile power inductors that is fast becoming a key component for power supplies used in the mobile devices such as cellular phones.
A typical cellular phone uses three to six power inductors. As the global demand for cellular phones continue to rise and manufacturing capacity tightens while the economy recovers, IRHL2D10P comes at the right time to help ease the pressure on the supply chain. The total demand for power inductors from the cellular phone makers alone is expected to be in the billions units in 2010.

Coil type inductors are the typical choice for use as power inductors for the DC-DC converters found in cellular phones due to the large current carrying capacity. However, for the same reason, it is difficult to achieve miniaturization and low profile at the same time. By eliminating waste and automation of the coiling process, Trigon is able to deliver IRHL2D10P that offers inductance ranging from 1 to 33uH with RDC as low as 78 mOhm. The low DCR is directly linked to better performance with respect to handling large current and high power efficiency. And the most beautiful things of all, everything is delivered in the slim 3x3x1mm package.
