knitter-switch has announced two miniature, multi-function tact switches that will find wide application in portable electronic devices including handheld instruments and PDAs. The TSSJ4 and TSSJ5 are both joystick style switches designed for surface mounting and manufactured to provide a minimum of 100,000 cycles.
TSSJ4 is a four position switch requiring a force of 1.6N for operation, whilst the TSSJ5 offers the same four position operation but with the addition of a centre push function requiring 3.2N. They are lead free and lead free solderable.

Both switches have a contact rating of 12VDC at 50mA, a maximum contact resistance of 100mΩ and an operating temperature range –20 to +70ºC.

With a base material of black, high temperature LCP and a silver-plated Nickel cover, both have stainless steel, silver clad contacts with silver-plated brass terminals.

The switches can be supplied with J-lead or gull-wing tags and are available from stock in tape and reel packaging.
