The modules can be used for street lights, which are normally insufficiently protected, if at all, against indirect lightning strikes. A delta connection is used to protect components against overvoltage – between phase and neutral, between phase and earth, and between neutral and earth.
The products were designed to protect against lightning surge currents up to 10,000A (series PBSP-XXX-10K) or up to 20,000A (series PBSP-XXX-20K). The modules, in accordance with UL1449, meet the ANSI Standard C136.2 / IEEE C62.41.2 location Category C and comply with the IEC61643-11 Class II / EN61643-11 type 2 standard.
Supplied in a compact, non-flammable plastic housing with mounting tabs, they are waterproof and dustproof to IP66. The devices operate at a maximum temperature of 85°C. All Protek PBSP-components comply with CE mark requirements, including the EU Low Voltage Directive.
