Switch offers multiple lever and gram force options
Offering the choice of single pole single throw or a single pole double throw circuit, the SM3 Series snap-action switch has been announced by CIT Relay & Switch. This UL/CUL recognized switch is available in 0.110" quick connect, solder lug, PC terminal and right angle PC termination. As with all CIT switch product, the SM3 series is RoHS compliant and includes multiple lever and gram force options.
The electrical life of the SM3 series is 100,000 cycles typically. Electrical rating is 5A @ 125VAC/250VAC/T120. Contact resistance is less than 20m initially. Dielectric strength is 1000Vrms minimum. Insulation resistance is greater than 100MΩ initially. Base, Cover and Pin Plunger are PBT, UL94-V0 with silver alloy contacts and silver plated copper alloy terminals. Operating and storage temperature is -40°C to 120°C.
Common applications for the SM3 Series snap-action switches include leveling and safety switches in elevators, vending machines and door detection. The SM3 Series is ideal for use in security, medical, process controls, business machines, HVAC, material handling, vending, gaming, circuit breakers and household appliances. Pricing ranges from $0.35, dependent upon options and volume. CIT Relay & Switch lead time is six to eight weeks.
