The new surface-mount chip resistors also feature a wide resistance range from one ohm to 20 megohms making them ideal for a variety of general-purpose applications.
Bourns designed these resistors to operate in certain harsh environments with higher levels of sulfur contamination. They are manufactured using a thick film element printed onto a ceramic substrate, and tested in accordance with ASTM B809-95 methods, which tests for the porosity of metallic coatings exposed to humid sulfur vapour.
Available now, the Model CRxxxxA-AS chip resistor series complements the other circuit conditioning components from Bourns that include power inductors and rectifier diodes. Bourns’ expanded line of sulfur-resistant fixed resistors are RoHS compliant and halogen free.
