A tactile switch from Tyco Electronics shows that a side actuated switch operation in combination with a modern slim design of an application isn’t a contradiction anymore. With a height of only 1.65mm, the new FSM3MS miniature side actuated tactile switch is ideal for miniature low profile applications such as mobile phones, MP3 players, Bluetooth headsets, portable handheld devices, remote controls, only to name a few.
Offering a space saving switch solution on the PCB, the FSM3MS tactile switch benefits from very small dimensions of only 4.7 x 4.5 x 1.65mm (w x d x h) and is available in two versions (terminals: SMD or SMD-up), with or without location pins. The version containing location pins is ideal for fixing the switch on the PCB during the soldering process.

Technical details of the FSM3MS device include a contact rating of 50mA at 12VDC, a mechanical life of 100.000 operations minimum, an actuation force of 2.2N, a travel of 0.3mm +/- 0.1mm and an operating temperature range of -20 up to +85 degrees Celsius.

The FSM3MS tactile switch comes packaged in tape and reel format and is available from stock at very short delivery times.
