A new range of interface plug-in power relays for panel board and mechanical engineering applications has recently been released by Tyco Electronics as an extension to the successful range of Schrack RT relays. New XT series plug-in relays include one pole (1 CO contact, 16A rated current) and two pole (2 CO contacts, 8A rated current) versions.
Very low coil power of only 400mW for the DC coil version and only 750mVA for the AC coil version make new XT devices the most power saving plug-in relays in their class.

Using reinforced pins for plug-in / panel applications, XT series relays do not require special sockets, and the 5mm pinout for both versions reduces logistical cost by using the same socket. A smoked clear cover allows easy visibility of the contacts. Devices feature a standard mechanical indicator showing the contact position and a lockable manual test system. Visual indication can be provided by an integrated LED and optionally an internal protection diode (with DC coil types).

New XT series plug-in relays benefit from reinforced insulation, meeting protection class II (VDE 0700) specifications. Further technical details include a maximum switching capacity of 4000VA/2000VA (1-pole/2-pole version), and an operating temperature range of -40 up to +70 degrees Celsius. DC and AC coil versions are colour coded, thus minimizing the possibility of mix-ups. New XT series plug-in relays are fully RoHS compliant.
