Murata has made available a range of low cost chip inductors. The parts are all offered in the space saving 0603 case size and are supplied on 10K reels for high volume pick and place manufacturing environments.
The BLM18TG series of chip ferrite beads are offered at impedances of 120, 220, 600 and 1000ohms (+/-25%), with a rated current of 200mA (100mA for the 1kohm part) and a DC resistance of 0.25, 0.3, 0.45 and 0.6ohms respectively.

Designed as a low cost alternative for the existing BLM18AG series, the BLM18 chip ferrite beads function as a resistor at high frequencies, thereby greatly reducing the possibility of resonance and leaving signal wave forms undistorted. The devices are effective in circuits without stable ground lines as no connection to ground is required. Typically, the beads are effective in noise suppression applications across a wide frequency range from 10MHz to several hundred MHz.

Their construction, with nickel plating of the external electrodes, provides excellent solder heat resistance even when using high temperature, lead free solder processes. These devices are suitable for practically any application requiring a low cost, 0603 ferrite bead.
