Hollow Shaft Rotary Encoder from knitter-switch can incorporate an LED or Tactile Switch

knitter-switch, one of Europe’s leading switch manufacturers, just announced the introduction of its new MER 23-20 rotary encoder. MER 23-20 encoders feature a large hollow shaft which allows system designers to incorporate an LED or tactile switch within the device. This makes them ideal for applications such as home multimedia systems, car entertainment systems and measuring instruments.

Each turn of the encoder is 20 pulses and one cycle is a full 360º CW followed by a 360º CCW turn. The encoder has a 9x9mm square hole at its centre which allows the placement of an LED and/or tactile switch on to the encoder’s internal PCB.

With a minimum lifetime of 30,000 cycles MER 23-20 devices offer users a reliable and robust control solution. Operating temperature range of the MER 23-20 is -10ºC to +70ºC.

Standard switches are available from a number of distributors throughout Europe. Samples are usually available on next day delivery. For more information visit www.knitter-switch.com
