High-current rectifier featuring sophisticated heat distribution

The European distributor ECOMAL is now offering the new Shindengen US-KB family of products, which sets new standards in rated and peak current performance. 10, 15 and 30 amp versions have been added to the familiar range of 4, 6 and 8 amp versions. Due to low AC line impedance, rectifiers which are connected to the AC input often have to be protected against excessive inrush current which flows when large are uncharged. An external protective resistor is connected in series with the rectifier, and the maximum current rating is an important criterion for bridge rectifiers.

The UL-listed rectifiers in a compact KB (GBU) housing and a rated voltage of 800V will withstand currents of up to 350A per diode. Excellent heat dissipation characteristics resulting from increased surface area at the connections and sophisticated heat distribution at the 4 corners of the frame are the secret behind these impressive specifications.
