F38 Series ##IMAGE_1_R##capacitors exhibit low ESR, low ESL, and low, flat impedance over a wide frequency range, and feature conductive polymer cathodes, which can handle high ripple currents. The new surface-mount capacitors provide high capacitance in miniature M and S cases for high volumetric efficiency.
AVX’s new F38 Series tantalum polymer capacitors are RoHS-compliant, halogen free, and rated for use in temperatures ranging from -55ºC to +105ºC. The new capacitors are vailable in two case sizes: M (1.6mm x 0.85mm x 0.8mm) and S (2.0mm x 1.25mm x 0.8mm).
M-case F38 Series capacitors are available rated for 10V and 2.2µF or 10V and 4.7µF; however, the following ratings are in development and slated for introduction later this year: 6.3V and 22µF, 6.3V and 47µF, and10V and 10µF.
S-case F38 Series capacitors are currently available rated for 6.3V and 47µF. Two additional S-case ratings, 4V and 100µF and 10V and 22µF, are also in development and slated for introduction later this year.
Allen Mayar, Marketing Manager at AVX, commented: “impervious to capacitance variations resulting from fluctuations in temperature or voltage, the new F38 Series tantalum polymer capacitors provide design engineers with a high-reliability alternative to the noise-emitting MLCCs in mobile phone and other handheld consumer device applications.”
