Suitable for rack, panel or plug-in mounting in telecommunication equipment, the rail industry, heavy-duty vehicles and other applications where a high degree of protection is required in a small package, these magnetic circuit breakers operate quicker than thermal units and are less sensitive to changes in ambient temperature. Magnetic/hydraulic versions are available that have a slower reaction time and are therefore less susceptible to transient current variations.
The combination of switch and circuit breaker saves installation time, reduces component count and saves space. In addition, a separate trip coil enables the main contacts to be opened by a remote sensor or logic control circuit such as the E-T-A X8345-R remote, motor driven ON/OFF actuator that can be operated by a suitable external change-over switch.
Fully approved to UL489, UL1077 and EN 60934 standards, the type 8345 also carries VDE, UL, CSA and CE approvals. Different mounting methods, toggle colours and water-splash covers are available.
