C&K Components, a leading international supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has developed a new family of mil-qualified toggle switches. Qualified to MIL-S-83731 specifications, the toggle switches feature 50µ-inch selective gold contact plating and are rated for logic level to 5A resistive loads and 2A inductive loads.

“The construction of the MIL-S-83731 toggle switches, including flame-retardant housing material, high vibration and thermal shock capabilities, as well as highly reliable gold-contact plating, makes them ideal for use in military and aerospace applications,” said Kyle Peterson, worldwide product manager for C&K Components. “The switches also feature epoxy-sealed terminals for process compatibility and are RoHS-compliant and compatible, making them suitable for use in harsh industrial environments as well.

The military-qualified toggle switches feature a mechanical life to 20,000 operations and electrical endurance to 10,000 operations. The switches also meet MIL-STD-202 qualifications for vibration, shock, salt spray, moisture resistance, explosion, and sand and dust resistance. Operating temperature ranges from -25ºC to +71ºC.
