TVS Cherry – a 50/50 joint venture between specialist electromechanical components and systems manufacturer Cherry Electrical Products and the TVS Group, one of India’s largest industrial conglomerates – now offers a wide variety of bespoke switching and sensing solutions for diverse markets including automotive, white goods, vending machines, switch gear and industrial controls.
Founded in 1911, the TVS Group grew to $5B last year and now incorporates 32 companies with 25 000 employees. The relationship with Cherry is very strong and dates back 50 years, with TVS Cherry being formed in 1993. Since that time, the $10M operation has significantly developed its design and manufacturing capabilities, positioning it as a major provider of solid state relays, smartcard readers, rocker switches, relays and snap action switches for the domestic market and export.

TVS Cherry's origins lie in the dual commitment of Cherry Electrical Products and TVS to provide high quality products at affordable prices. TVS Cherry's adherence to this principle has resulted in the company gaining ISO 9002 and ISO 9001 in 1996 and 2003 respectively. TVS Cherry also gained TS certification in 2004.

TVS Cherry switching and sensing products are available in the UK through Cherry Electrical Products Ltd. Comments key account manager, Mark Mills: “TVS Cherry enables us to offer very high quality, bespoke switching and sensor solutions at very low prices. More, we are also building our product range in this area, as TVS Cherry continues to design, develop and manufacture an increasingly broad range of innovative electrical products.”
