Developed by UNIFE, the Independent Association of European Railway Industries, and supported by system integrators, equipment manufacturers and operators, IRIS is an internationally recognised standard for the evaluation of railway industry management systems. The certification covers AVX’s entire high-power film capacitor product offering.

AVX uses a proprietary, high-reliability, controlled self-healing technology in its Trafim, Disfim™ and Filfim families of environmentally- safe, oil-filled capacitors. Under certain conditions this technology can achieve a specific energy density of 2200 joules per litre.
