HUBER+SUHNER announces a new version of its class leading 3402 Series gas discharge tube lightning and EMP protectors. The new device extends the maximum operating frequency from 2.5GHz up to 3GHz which greatly expands the range of applications for this type of protection device.

Designated Platform 3000, the new protectors are based on replaceable GDTs with static spark-over voltages between 90V and 600V with a high current handling capability of up to 30kA, 8/20µs with a very low residual pulse.

The new protector offers DC continuity for powering remotely installed equipment and the use of replaceable GDTs means minimal maintenance in the field. Other key features include highly effective RF shielding, environmental protection to IP67 and N Jack Female/N Jack Female configuration is standard although the company can supply other configurations on request. Operating temperature range is -40⁰C to +85⁰C.

HUBER+SUHNER’s Robin George comments, "The 3402.17. 3001 will find wide application in all types of defence, security and communications installations that need the extended operating frequency and that demand DC continuity."

HUBER+SUHNER’s experience in lightning and EMP protection spans more than 40 years and, today, the company offers a wide variety of protection technologies and solutions for RF, microwave, data line and DC-AC applications.
