Protecting sensitive electronic equipment from ESD damage, the SP1026 series 15pF 30kV bidirectional discrete TVS diode array has been unveiled by Littelfuse. These robust general-purpose diodes can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes at ±30kV (contact discharge, IEC 61000-4-2) without performance degradation and can safely dissipate 5A of 8/20μs surge current (IEC61000-4-5) with very low clamping voltages.

The SP1026 series TVS diodes provide high ESD immunity and superior protection to permit manufacturers to achieve ESD protection beyond the maximum level stated in the IEC standard and protect against a multitude of other threats to ensure product reliability in the field. Applications for the SP1026 series include protection of mobile phones, smart phones, smart watches, tablets, portable navigation devices and portable medical devices.

Tim Micun, Product Manager, TVS Diode Arrays (SPA Diodes), Littelfuse, commented: “The SP1026 series helps to round out our portfolio of general-purpose ESD protection devices. Design engineers can be confident that they will find a device that provides a cost-effective solution with a space-efficient design that fits neatly into their increasingly crowded PCB layout."

Low dynamic resistance of 1.4Ω supports the low clamping voltages needed for protecting modern electronics filled with small-geometry ICs. This space-efficient ESD protection solution fits into a 0201-size (0.60x0.30-5mm) footprint to save PCB space and reduce costs.
