Wire grid polarisers from LASER COMPONENTS

LASER COMPONENTS’ partner Dynasil Optometrics have developed a special holographic technique to produce infrared wire grid polarisers with sub-micron grid spacing. Using technology similar to that used to produce their range of holographic diffraction gratings, coherent laser beams are projected onto a photo-resist coated substrate to produce a precise pattern of equally spaced grooves.

The resulting sinusoidal relief profile is aluminium coated using a proprietary process to create the array of parallel conductors. This process is suitable for a wide range of infra-red materials, even those that do not lend themselves to the ruling process.

Holographic wire grid polarisers are available with a spacing of 2,700g/mm for optimum short wavelength efficiency.
