Vertical cavity surface emitting lasers in DToF

LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it offers a wide range of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) diodes. These VCSELs offer high performance at a relatively low price and are ideal for a wide range of range finding and 3D detection applications. High power VCSEL pulsed laser diodes are available with output powers up to 50W and are ideal for Direct Time of Flight (DToF) applications. 

The very small wavelength drift with temperature (0.07nm/°C) enables narrower bandpass filters to be used, which decreases ambient light interference, improving Signal to Noise ratio and extending the effective range. 

These VCSELS are available in SMD and TO packages with wavelengths of 808nm, 850nm and 940nm. Multichannel VCSEL arrays with 4, 8 or 16 emitters are also available.
