Temperature sensors aim to improve safety in plants

To ensure operational safety in power plants and grids, Optocon has introduced a variety of fibre optic temperature measuring devices and temperature sensors for temperature monitoring in oil-filled power transformers. With a high system accuracy of +/-0,2°C and fast sampling rates per channel, the FOTEMPTrafo temperature signal conditioner offers reliable real-time temperature results.

To allow quick and easy integration into existing communication networks, the temperature measurement device is equipped with standard analog outputs, Modbus, RS232 and RS485.

The outer jacket of Optocon’s TSNano temperature sensor is made out of PTFE, while a GaAs-crystal (gallium arsenide) is attached to its tip. With high temperature operation capability, intrinsic safety and non-invasive use, the sensor offers complete immunity to RFI, EMI, NMR and microwave radiation.

The TSNano, which can be self assembled with the NANO-Kit, features a spacer which provides a simple, fast and non-adhesive attachment of the sensor directly between the windings.
