Laser Components has over 30 years’ experience producing high quality optical coatings. It manufactures partially reflective mirrors as standard for the wavelength range 193nm – 5um.

Partially reflective mirrors are generally produced for 0° AOI as output couplers, or for 45° as beam splitters, though other incident angles may be manufactured upon request.

Output couplers may be used for example in excimer lasers. For use outside of the cavity, the coating is applied directly to fused silica substrates, but when the mirrors are used inside the resonator the coatings and substrate must be chlorine or fluorine resistant as they are exposed to the laser gas. In such a case, special chlorine and fluorine coatings are applied to either CaF2 or MgF2 substrates.

Laser Components stocks a number of standard output couplers, but specialise in producing custom parts to order.
