A range of optical switches based on a micromechanical/micro optical design are on offer from LASER COMPONENTS. These allow the switches to be built with a large range of fibres including large core and polarisation maintaining (PM) fibres. The switches can be manufactured to be suitable for a range of wavelengths and have low insertion loss, crosstalk and return loss.

The switches come with a built in drivers for TTL, RS232 and I2C, with options for Ethernet and USB interfaces allowing flexibility and easy prototyping of optical systems. The switches can be supplied as an OEM module or in a benchtop unit.

The range of switches includes multiple output, 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16 and higher channel counts with the same exceptional optical performance. Multiple input versions, NxN, can offer a number of simple or complex routing versions.
