James Beacher, business director for CoolLED, said: “Measurement can be very subjective and, as such, misleading. What CoolLED has done is to provide intensity measurements and explained how these values have been derived. Much of the light emitted from the surface of the LED will be lost. Hence, only useable light that is actually expected to reach the desired area of illumination is included in our measurements. Users of CoolLED products are now better positioned to make informed decisions about the LED performance”.
Intensity data is posted on the company’s website at: http://www.coolled.com/Life-Sciences-Anlaytica/Technical-Information/LED-Intensity/
CoolLED is part of the CIL group and manufactures a range of LED products for different applications based on their proven technology using actively-cooled LED arrays for the best possible performance, stability and control. Using this technology means that LEDs can now offer greater intensity than high-pressure mercury lamps at many wavelengths.
