The 1350nm wavelength is advantageous in a number of markets including medical applications. Lipid, acne and wrinkle reduction procedures are some of the first to take advantage of this new technology.

Laser sources with 19 emitter bars exceed 40 Watts CW. The slope efficiency is greater than 40%. Single emitter 1350nm sub-mounts yield 6 Watts CW power, and fibre coupled products provide 4.8 Watts CW power.
