Distributor Digi-Key is now stocking Allied Vision’s Alvium 1800 USB camera.

It is a crossover between an embedded module and a high-performance camera for industrial and scientific image processing.

It is available as a small and lightweight single board module with various lens mounts or with a completely closed housing.

The Alvium 1800 series fulfil all standards for industrial machine vision: its rugged hardware is built to last and long-term availability is secured.

The USB interface complies with the USB3 Vision standard that ensures plug-and-play compatibility with all popular image-processing software libraries.

Sony Pregius sensors deliver outstanding image quality at a high frame rate and the global shutter technology captures crisp images of fast-moving objects.

The cameras are fitted with a separate I/O port allowing high-precision, low-latency triggering and perfect synchronisation with peripherals such as lighting.

Like any industrial camera, the Alvium 1800 series includes an on-board processor for image correction and pre-processing.

Software integration is easy thanks to Allied Vision’s versatile Vimba SDK compatible with Linux for Arm, Linux, and Windows.

With resolutions from 0.4 megapixels to 20 megapixels, the Alvium 1800 USB suits designers of embedded systems with demanding vision requirements or of PC-based systems looking for a small and affordable yet industrial-grade camera.
