A camera which features a 12.7mm Sony IMX185 Exmor CMOS sensor, capable of 1920x1080 resolution at 60fps, has been introduced by Point Grey. The CR-POE-20S3C expands the company’s Cricket IP security camera line. To provide outstanding low light performance and a wide dynamic range, the 2.0MP sensor uses the same 3.75µpx structure as the existing 1.3MP Cricket camera with the Sony IMX139.

Enabling multi-image WDR functionality, multi-streaming, noise reduction, video encoding and ONVIF support, the CR-POE-20S3C utilises Sony’s Xarina image processing platform. The camera, which is compatible with a manual iris or DC auto iris lens measuring 12.7mm or more, is available now and priced at $349/€289.

“The Cricket IP camera line offers excellent image quality, low light performance, and wide dynamic range that is on par with much more expensive security cameras in the industry,” says Michael Gibbons, Director of Sales and Marketing, Point Grey. “Cricket has been well received by customers with traditional IP surveillance and mobile applications. We’re excited to introduce the IMX185 model, which offers even greater sensitivity at high 1080p resolution.”
