4.5 W Dimmable LED Driver: High Efficiency and Superior Performance

PI recently released a design for a non-isolated, high-efficiency, high power factor, 4.5 W TRIAC dimmable LED driver designed to drive a nominal LED string voltage of 48 V at 93 mA (4.5 W) from an input voltage range of 90 VAC to 132 VAC (47 Hz – 63 Hz).

Features include:

Single-stage power factor corrected and accurate constant current (CC) output
Low cost, low component count and small, single-sided PCB
Integrated protection and reliability features Single shot no-load protection (self-resetting and repetitive protection optional)
Auto-recovering thermal shutdown with large hysteresis protects both components and PCB
No damage during brown-out conditions

>86% efficiency at 115 VAC input for 48 V LED load
Fast start-up time (<300 ms) – no perceptible delay
