The AD8270 and AD8273 are high-speed, low distortion and precision dual-channel difference amplifiers designed for applications that require extremely fast and precise measurement without compromising signal fidelity, such as avionics, industrial process controls and high-performance audio equipment.

The 10 MHz AD8270 and 12 MHz AD8273 are three times faster than competing parts. In addition, the AD8270 features a 30 V/µs slew rate that is nearly three times better than the nearest competitive difference amplifier, while the 25 V/µs slew rate of the AD8273 is more than 1.5 times higher than other competing amplifiers. This ac performance is complemented by dc precision, best-in-class SNR (signal-to-noise ration) and an 86 dB CMRR (common mode rejection ratio) that is 12 dB higher than competing devices. These figures combine to give designers the ac and dc performance needed for rapid, error-free signal processing, which is critical for semiconductor test equipment, programmable logic controllers, power monitors and other high-speed, multi-channel systems.

The AD8270, available in a 4 mm x 4 mm package, is significantly smaller than other competing dual-channel difference amplifiers. The AD8273 is available in a 54 mm square package that is pin- and function-compatible with competing difference amplifiers, which allows designers to substitute the higher-performing part without reconfiguring board layout.

Both the AD8270 and AD8273 feature internal gain-setting resistors that allow the design engineer to set gain with no external components.

The AD8270 and AD8273 are compatible with other Analog Devices products, including the AD7621, AD767x, AD7685 and AD794x high-performance PulSAR® 14- to 18-bit SAR ADCs (analogue-to-digital converters) and the ADR431 and ADR435 voltage references.
